October 19–November 1, 2026 · Times are Central.
This week’s Wisco notes start with a changed Milwaukee tipoff, then head north for a costume run and west for a conversation with working artists. Keep the dates with these stories: results below are completed games, and the community listings are a dated look ahead.
Milwaukee: move Friday’s basketball reminder
The Bucks’ October 23 home opener against Chicago now starts at 3 p.m. at Fiserv Forum, moved from 7 p.m. The October 16 team announcement makes room for Milwaukee’s baseball evening. Replace the old reminder before planning your Friday. Venue listing · Team announcement.
Brewers World Series Game 1: October 23, 7 p.m. Central, American Family Field, FOX; opponent TBD. MLB schedule. Ticket availability was not checked.
Green Bay: a completed Sunday win
The Packers beat Dallas 23–13 on October 18 at Lambeau Field, their third consecutive win, moving to 4–2. Matthew Golden caught six passes for 104 yards and a touchdown. This replaces the pregame reminder with a dated final; it is not a live score. Packers’ October 18 recap.
Superior: costumes, running and a pickup-date caveat
The Superior Nightmare 5K lists October 24 at 11 a.m., starting at Wessman Arena, 2701 Catlin Avenue. The current adult entry tier is $40; runners 18 and under enter free. That makes the youth rate worth checking before registering a family. Organizer’s 2026 race details.
The same page contains conflicting packet-pickup dates and a mislabeled pickup paragraph. Confirm those arrangements with the organizer before traveling; we have not checked remaining places or completed registration.
La Crosse: meet the artists on Tuesday
Pump House Regional Arts Center lists an October 27 artist talk, 5–7 p.m., with Lydia Zoells, Flo Sandok, Elizabeth Higgins and Allie “Rusty” Norgord. Admission is free and reservations are not required. Use the talk for questions about their creative process rather than expecting a guided session during an ordinary gallery visit. Pump House program.
The building is closed October 24 for a private rental. King Street construction also affects nearby parking, so use the venue’s access information before heading to 119 King Street.
A Wisconsin participation idea
An October 16 DNR report credits volunteers with more than 8,350 hours across 5,124 acres of State Natural Areas during 2025. Training and equipment are provided for volunteer work; the report is a starting point for finding a workday, not a current trail-conditions report. DNR report and volunteer links.
